An Introduction to Corrosion | NACE Lunch and Learn

The presentation focuses on corrosion and the potential problems caused by corrosion. It provides a basic but thorough review of causes of corrosion and the methods by which it can be identified, monitored, and controlled. A brief introduction to NACE International, as well as the NACE Calgary Section will also be provided. Laura holds a B.Sc. in Materials Engineering from the University of Duisburg-Essen, Germany. Her past experience includes working in the steel industry, as well as working at a specialized corrosion consulting engineering company, where she established a solid professional career in a variety of both technical and organizational roles. Currently, Laura is working for Lloyd's Register Energy America’s as a Corrosion Engineer and provides corrosion consulting and evaluation services for upstream, mining, downstream refining and upgrader units to the Asset Integrity Services department. She is also a dedicated member of NACE International and has served at the local and national level in a number of technical and organizational areas. She was selected to attend the 2016 NACE Leadership Training Program and is currently the Chair for the NACE Calgary Section. Pizza and pop will be provided!
