Ten years ago news reports frequently cited peak oil as a looming problem facing our world. Since that time technology and innovation has allowed us to tap into rocks that were previously deemed impossible which reversed this trend. The Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin has been a leader in this movement with entrepreneurs and innovators using new technology to develop our resources in a safe and reliable way.
In the first part of this workshop, we would like to highlight some of these stories of innovation and entrepreneurship with talks from industry leaders Pat Carlson, CEO of Seven Generations and Rich Kruger, CEO of Imperial Oil. Pat Carlson will be discussing lessons learned over his career on successful oil and gas startups. Rich Kruger will be discussing how to be a leader and innovator within a larger organization.
The second half of the workshop will focus on team based case studies provided by Kinetica Ventures and their clients. Kinetica Ventures assists innovators and entrepreneurs by providing them access to capital and business expertise so their ideas can get off the ground and take flight. The case studies that will be presented will focus on how a team can use their innovative and intrapreneurial skills to overcome problems and dilemmas that face large energy companies.
Please join us on how being an innovator can help shape your career and adapt to today’s volatile energy industry.
